Aeroplane

Sat 2nd June - The Undergrowth Stage

You fly with Aeroplane once, you don’t forget it. In just three years, the Italian-Belgian duo established themselves as party-starting DJs, remixers du jour -with their spacious cosmic-disco re-rerubs of Grace Jones (William’s Blood), Friendly Fires (Paris) and Sebastien Tellier (Kilometer)- and, via their own piano-sprinkled melancholic beauties like Caramellas, leaders of the nu-disco and Balearica scene. Their debut album “We Can’t Fly” arrive with sky high hopes and was one of the most talked about dance releases of 2010.

Aeroplane is now a one-man operation, Vito having amicably parted company with his bandmate Stephen Fasano. “Stephen's gonna do music on his own, I'm gonna do music on my own. I’m the studio guy, he was more the DJ so when the music became more important, the more I was alone in the studio”, says Vito. Vito plans to produce Stephen’s solo material as The Magician.

In time, Fasano split from Aeroplane and proceeded to focus on his solo career as a DJ. Reduced to a one-man act comprised entirely of Deluca, Aeroplane made its full-length album debut with We Can't Fly. Released in association with the Wall of Sound label, the album spawned the singles "We Can't Fly" and "Superstar."
