Favourite Sons

Favourite Sons rock ‘n’ roll oozes with such self-imposed discomfort. They’re the guys who, rather than pretending to have a life story actually went out and got one. Ken Griffin was working in a bar and contemplating his musical future when Matthew Werth and Justin Tripp, both formerly of Aspera, ventured up from Philadelphia to find the former Rollerskate Skinny member and talk him back into the business. Favourite Sons released singles on the Gold Standard Laboratories and Loog labels in 2005, as well as a live EP, before their full-length studio debut, Down Beside Your Beauty, was released on Vice Records in the fall of 2006. Their debut long player was nothing short of an intense journey of songwriting focused largely on lead singer Griffin’s unique vocals and melodic sensibilities.

The result of Favourite Son’s enduring friendship and desire to create a reaching music is the recently released The Great Deal Of Love. It features 12 new songs by Favourite Sons, written and recorded over the last two years.
